Blimp Photography

We offer two types of low and high altitude photography services using the Blimp and/or Airplane.

Blimp photography provides precise placement and views of your subjects from 100 to 700 feet above and can view subjects from 1 foot by 1 foot square to several acres wide.  It’s extremely accurate and delivers high quality crisp views of your subjects due to the camera be mounted directly outside.  While photographing the customer you can see what we are shooting through the video down link to ground control.  (see How we do it for more details)  It provides extreme detail and repetitive shots that will allow for time lapse photography and precision views presenting best at heights from 100 to 700 feet above the target.

We can fly in winds up to 10 knots and we are held down with two 400 pound tether lines which is connected to an electric winch to achieve even greater control for launch and recovery.  On board our wireless ground station broadcasts video from above to ground control to view the target. Balloon systems are significantly less expensive to operate than leasing airplanes and helicopters for aerial photography. Granted a Helicopter can hover however it’s expensive and noisy but with a balloon we can remain still on the job for several hours if needed. With nothing being mechanical, no engine noise and can be completed with one person it makes our launch easy, safe and quiet.

And yes we also do Airplane photography which does gives us the ability to provide aerial photos from an even higher perspective of 1,000 feet to 10,000 feet.  In this case you may want to cover serveral within one picture and with our special equipment mounted outside gives us better clarity from views using a Cessna 172 Skyhawk with G1000 glass for navigation.
